Intrusion Prevention System
BitCo administers a rigid Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) for swift action against potential threats as a final security barrier.
An Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) is a device or software application which identifies and prevents hazardous events. The IDS examines whole packets, both header and payload, looking for known events. When a known event is detected the packet is rejected or blocked from carrying out the rest of its operation. This is achieved by either dropping the malicious packets, blocking traffic from the source address or resetting the connection.
The IDS is placed in-line with network traffic to enable optimum positioning to intercept unsafe traffic and enforce security protocol rapidly.
BitCo has automated this process so that action is performed so fast it is undetectable to subscribers on the network.
